Job Summary:
The Accountant is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day accounting functions of the organization. This entry-level position provides support in managing financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards. The Accountant works closely with the senior accounting team to contribute to the accurate and timely financial reporting of the company.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
General Ledger Maintenance:
Assist in maintaining accurate general ledger entries by recording daily financial transactions.
Help with posting journal entries and reconciling accounts as part of the monthly close process.
Ensure that all transactions are in accordance with accounting principles and company policies.
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
Support the accounts payable process by entering vendor invoices and ensuring timely payments.
Assist in accounts receivable by generating client invoices and following up on overdue payments.
Assist in payment of commission to both internal and external sales agents.
Assist in preparing monthly payroll for staff.
Reconcile vendor and customer statements to ensure accuracy.
Financial Reporting Support:
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Support the senior accountant with financial statement, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Help prepare financial documentation for audits as needed.
Expense Tracking and Reporting:
Help manage and track company expenses, ensuring they are properly documented and classified.
Reconcile bank transactions and employee expense reports.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting by providing accurate expense data.
Compliance and Tax Support:
Assist in preparing tax filings (e.g. VAT, Withholding, Pension & employee tax)
Maintain records of taxes paid and assist in audits or reviews by tax authorities.
Ensure that all financial records adhere to regulatory and internal standards.
Inventory and Asset Management:
Support the tracking and recording of company inventory and fixed assets.
Assist with periodic inventory counts and fixed asset depreciation schedules.
Data Entry and Record Keeping:
Accurately input financial data into the accounting system.
Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records, both electronically and physically.
Assisting Senior Accountants:
Provide support to senior accountants and finance managers on ad hoc financial projects and analysis.
Assist in identifying areas for process improvements within the accounting functions.
General Administrative Support:
Perform general administrative duties related to the finance department, including filing, document preparation, and correspondence with vendors and clients.
Assist in answering financial inquiries from other departments as needed.
Job Specification
Educational Qualifications
- MA/BA degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. An associate degree or equivalent qualification may be acceptable with relevant experience.
Professional Experience
Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, ideally in an entry-level accounting or bookkeeping position.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage).
