Position Overview / Scope of Role:
The Accountant is responsible for supporting core accounting functions including payroll processing, tax filings, general ledger maintenance, and preparation of basic financial reports. The role ensures accurate recording of financial transactions, compliance with applicable regulations, and timely execution of routine finance activities.
The position requires a detail-oriented professional who can handle day-to-day accounting tasks with guidance while progressively building the capability to work more independently. The role plays an important part in maintaining financial discipline and supporting the overall finance function.
Top Roles and Responsibilities:
General Accounting and Transaction Recording
• Record daily financial transactions accurately in the accounting system.
• Maintain proper documentation and filing of financial records.
• Assist in maintaining the general ledger and supporting schedules.
Payroll Support and Processing
• Assist in preparing and processing monthly payroll.
• Ensure accuracy of salary calculations, deductions, and statutory contributions.
• Maintain payroll records and support reconciliation.
Tax Preparation and Compliance Support
• Assist in preparation and submission of tax filings (VAT, withholding, payroll taxes).
• Ensure timely compliance with local tax regulations.
• Support communication with tax authorities when required.
Accounts Payable and Receivable Support
• Process supplier invoices and prepare payment vouchers.
• Assist in tracking receivables and following up on outstanding balances.
• Support reconciliation of supplier and customer accounts.
Bank and Cash Reconciliation
• Perform regular bank reconciliations and identify discrepancies.
• Maintain records of cash transactions and support cash count activities.
Financial Reporting Support
• Assist in preparation of monthly and periodic financial reports.
• Support financial statement preparation under supervision.
• Compile data and schedules required for reporting.
Fixed Asset and Inventory Support
• Assist in maintaining fixed asset registers.
• Support asset verification and inventory tracking processes.
Audit and Compliance Support
• Provide required documentation for internal and external audits.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Support implementation of audit recommendations.
Coordination with Internal Teams
• Work closely with HR on payroll-related matters.
• Coordinate with procurement and operations for invoice and payment processing.
• Support smooth flow of financial information across departments.
Documentation and Record Keeping
• Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records.
• Ensure proper filing for audit and compliance purposes.
Performs other related duties as directed

Job Requirements
Educational Qualification:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Experience:
• 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience
• Exposure to payroll, tax, and basic financial reporting is preferred
• Experience with accounting software is an advantage
