ChipChip is hiring a mid-level Accountant to independently manage core accounting activities, ensure tax compliance, maintain accurate financial records, and coordinate closely with warehouse and operations teams. This role requires hands-on ownership of daily accounting functions and accountability for accuracy and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Records
Maintain complete, accurate, and timely accounting records.
Record and review daily financial transactions and journal entries.
Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports.
Reconcile bank statements, receivables, payables, and general ledger accounts.
Tax & Statutory Compliance
Prepare and submit VAT, withholding tax, and payroll tax declarations.
Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws and statutory deadlines.
Maintain organized tax documentation and supporting records.
Month-End & Year-End Closing
Manage assigned month-end and year-end closing tasks.
Prepare reconciliations, accruals, and closing schedules.
Ensure financial data completeness and accuracy before reporting.
Payroll & Statutory Payments
Process payroll in compliance with labor and tax regulations.
Ensure accurate calculation and timely payment of statutory deductions.
Reconcile payroll-related accounts
Digital Accounting & Process Management
Operate accounting systems and digital financial tools effectively.
Maintain structured and accurate digital accounting records.
Identify gaps in processes and propose improvements to accounting workflows.
Warehouse & Inventory Accounting
Record and monitor inventory transactions in coordination with warehouse teams.
Conduct regular stock and asset reconciliations.
Monitor inventory variances, losses, and adjustments and report findings.
Ensure alignment between physical stock and accounting records.
Audit & Compliance
Prepare accounting records and schedules for audits.
Coordinate with internal and external auditors as required
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and accounting regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Key Expectations

Strong attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Willingness to collaborate closely with warehouse and operations teams.
