Kurmuk Gold Mine PLC (KGM) is a subsidiary of Allied Gold Corp, a company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange, with mining operations in multiple countries including Ethiopia, Mali, and Côte d'Ivoire. KGM holds a Large-Scale Gold Mining License and three contiguous Exploration Licenses for its Ethiopian project. These licenses are located in western Ethiopia, approximately 750 km from Addis Ababa and about 90 km northwest of Assosa, in the Benishangul-Gumuz Regional State. KGM is currently engaged in both mine development and exploration activities at the site.

The AP and Tax Administrator is responsible for managing the accounts payable process, ensuring accurate and timely vendor payments, and assisting with tax compliance and reporting. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and knowledge of accounting principles and tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable (AP) Duties:

  • Process vendor invoices, expense reports, and payment requests accurately and timely. 

  • Verify invoice details (quantities, prices, approvals) and match them with purchase orders (POs) and receipts. 

  • Ensure proper GL coding and approval workflows for all AP transactions. 

  • Prepare and process payments and reconcile payments. 

  • Maintain vendor records, including forms and banking details. 

  • Resolve invoice discrepancies and vendor inquiries in a professional manner. 

  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation. 

  • Assist with month-end closing, accruals, and AP-related reconciliations. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Procurement, Finance, Operations). 

Tax Compliance Duties:

  • Assist in preparing and filing of all business tax payment and business tax returns. 

  • Ensure compliance with federal and local tax regulations. 

  • Maintain tax exemption certificates and support tax audits as needed. 

  • Reconcile tax-related accounts and resolve discrepancies. 

  • Assist with quarter -end and year-end reporting and compliance. 

  • Identify process improvements for AP and tax workflows. 

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. 

  • Experience: 5+ years in AP, tax administration, or general accounting. 

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and MS Excel (VLOOKUPs, PivotTables). 

  • Tax Knowledge: Familiarity with Ethiopia Tax laws, reporting, and basic tax compliance. 

  • Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills. 

  • Additional Certifications: (Preferred but not required).
