Job Summary:
We are looking for a versatile and proactive Administrative Assistant & Chinese Translator to support our management team during the critical startup and construction phase of our solar cell manufacturing project. The ideal candidate will bridge the communication gap between Chinese management, local staff, and government authorities while ensuring smooth office and site operations.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Translation & Interpretation :

  • Provide high-quality consecutive interpretation (Chinese-Amharic-English) for technical meetings, site inspections, and daily communication between the Project Manager and local workers.

  • Translate project-related documents, including government correspondence, contracts, and simple technical manuals for production equipment.

  • Assist management in communicating with local suppliers, contractors, and the IPDC (Industrial Park Development Corporation).

2 HR & Government Liaison:

  • Support the initial recruitment process (screening CVs, scheduling interviews for local staff/operators).

  • Assist in processing work permits and visas for Chinese expatriates and technical experts.

  • Serve as the primary contact for local government offices (EIC, Customs, Tax Authority) to ensure regulatory compliance.

3. Logistics & Daily Operations:

  • Coordinate transportation and accommodation for visiting technical teams.

  • Manage petty cash for daily office expenses and prepare basic expense reports.

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Language Proficiency: * Fluent in Mandarin Chinese (HSK 5 or above preferred, or equivalent work experience).

    • Excellent command of Amharic (Native) and English (Professional).

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chinese Language, Business Administration, Management, or related fields.

  • Experience: * 2+ years of experience as a translator or admin assistant, preferably with Chinese manufacturing or construction companies in Ethiopia.

    • Experience working within an Industrial Park environment is a significant plus.

  • Competencies:

    • Strong multitasking skills and ability to work under pressure during the startup phase.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).

    • Strong cross-cultural communication skills and professional ethics.
