Job Summary:
As part of its ongoing efforts, PAD is looking to hire a qualified Area Project Coordinator for an EHF-funded project titled “Rapid Life-Saving Assistance through Camp Coordination and Multi-Purpose Cash Support for Populations in High-Severity Crisis Areas of Ethiopia.” The Officer will primarily be responsible for monitoring and evaluating project implementation, tracking performance indicators, ensuring timely, high-quality reporting, and promoting cross-sector learning to support adaptive management.
Under the guidance of the project manager and in collaboration with thematic leads, the Project Coordinator is primarily responsible for ensuring that project activities align with the project design, budget, scope, and cluster standards. They will also use existing or new procedures to track performance. Additionally, the position requires frequent travel.
Overall Responsibilities:
Coordinate the execution of project activities, such as targeting, registration, verification, distribution, and follow-up, in collaboration with the cluster and other relevant parties.
Ensure that all project activities align with the allocated budget and meet project objectives.
Oversee the daily execution of project tasks, including conducting regular field visits to ensure adherence to the work plan and proper project documentation.
Review and document key project events, decisions, issues, or deviations, and ensure that project data and information are properly archived and shared.
Ensure timely procurement and delivery of necessary materials and items to designated sites, assess quality of materials received, and supply relevant documentation and pipeline projections for effective planning.
Frequently visit project execution locations to fully comprehend ongoing activities and provide direction to the team on potential improvements.
Compile quality reports that must be reviewed and submitted to government entities and donors in accordance with their reporting schedules.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports and submit them to the coordination office on work progress.
Organize documentation of project-related information, lessons learned, modifications, and community feedback regarding project achievements.
Coordinate training sessions, workshops, and meetings for stakeholders on various topics.
Monitor project progress and suggest adjustments to the immediate supervisor.
Promote the integration of gender, disability, and other cross-cutting issues in all project-related activities.
Collaborate with counterparts and implementing partners; keep all relevant authorities, community representatives, and communities informed about the program’s successes and challenges as needed.
Provide feedback that enhances project effectiveness and supports the creation of new project proposals for the sustainability of the organization.
Support any additional tasks as directed by managers and be ready to respond to requests for assistance throughout the country wherever needed.
Coordinate safeguarding of all organizational resources and staff at the field office.
About You
Qualification: BA/MSc degree, education, rural development, agricultural economics, water supply, soil and water engineering, DVM, or similar areas. (Master’s degree is an advantage).
Work Experience: A minimum of 7 years of pertinent experience, including a role in management, development, or humanitarian projects. Preferably, experience working in CCCM, WASH, shelter, NIF, OR cash distribution, project implementation within a humanitarian or recovery context, especially in conflict-affected areas
Skills:
Proven experience in camp coordination, site management, or support to return and reintegration processes.
In-depth knowledge of CCCM tools, guidance, and best practices.
Practical experience in disaster response and early recovery programming.
Strong understanding of data protection in emergency operations and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including basic database management.
Ability to adapt technical expertise to diverse operational contexts.
Experience working in multicultural teams and dynamic emergency environments.
Fluency in English (oral and written) required.
Knowledge of the local language is an asset.
Prior experience in an NGO.

Willingness to travel frequently to field locations, including remote areas.
