Education: Certificate/Diploma in Food Preparation, Kitchen Operations, or Culinary Arts

Working Conditions

• Requires standing for long periods.

• May involve working in shifts, including holidays and weekends

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Food Preparation: Washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables.

• Cleaning and preparing meat, fish, and poultry for cooking.

• Preparing various sauces and spice blends in advance.

• Cooking :Cooking basic dishes according to the Head Chef’s instructions.

• Assisting with plating to ensure meals are presented attractively.

• Hygiene and Sanitation: Regularly cleaning the cooking area, utensils, and equipment.

• Strictly adhering to Food Safety regulations.

• Properly disposing of kitchen waste.

• Stock Control: Monitoring inventory levels and reporting shortages to the Head Chef.

• Properly receiving and storing new supplies in their designated areas.

Skills & Competencies

• Professional Knowledge: Basic understanding of food handling, knife skills, and fundamental cooking techniques.

• Diligence: Ability to work quickly and efficiently under high-pressure environments.

• Hygiene: High level of attention to personal and workplace cleanliness.

• Teamwork: Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other kitchen staff
