The Opportunity
The position is responsible for ensuring strong budget planning and financial analysis through rigorous monitoring of organizational income and costs, maintaining financial KPI accuracy and visibility, and delivering accurate and timely master and annual country budgets. The position holder leads the annual country budget analysis and ensures project budget cost effectiveness and efficiency.
The role also oversees the preparation and consolidation of fully costed project budgets in line with donor and organizational requirements, ensures financial sustainability and strategic alignment, and generates & analyzes financial management KPI reports to support decision-making by the Country Leadership Team (CLT). Additionally, the role is accountable for implementing sound financial forecasting practices to anticipate future financial trends and help the CLT to make informed strategic decisions.

Safeguarding Children and Young People (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)
Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.
Ensures that the team members under supervision are properly inducted on and understands their role in upholding Plan International’s safeguarding and GEI policies;
Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day-to-day work.
Ensures that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted.
The Indvidual
Master’s Degree and a BA degree in Accounting and Finance or Economics
Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in finance management, budget management, preferably in an NGO setting, out of which 3 years on a senior level/ managerial level
Advanced experience with SAP and other financial management systems and Excel
Strong analytical, supervisory, and communication skills
Demonstrated understanding of Major Donor requirements (EU, ECHO, UN agencies, FCDO, and US funding), Government rules & regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
