Main Promoter:     ORDA Ethiopia
Purpose of the job:

ORDA Microfinance Institution Share Company is a newly emerging financial institution currently under establishment. Our primary vision is to bridge the gap between traditional development interventions and sustainable financial inclusion for rural and semi-urban communities in Ethiopia.

Our main promoter, ORDA Ethiopia, is a premier non-governmental organization with over 40 years of experience in transforming livelihoods. As a subsidiary of the ORDA Ethiopia family, the Microfinance Institution (MFI) joins a robust network of sister companies and programs.

ORDA Microfinance will not just provide credit. We aim to offer a "Credit Plus" approach—integrating micro-credit with ORDA Ethiopia’s existing social development programs. The CEO will be tasked with ensuring that financial services act as a catalyst for technical programs.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

The CEO will initially lead the formation and licensing phase and subsequently transition into the full operational leadership of the company. You will be responsible for the strategic, financial, and operational success of the MFI, reporting directly to the Board of Directors.

Phase A: Under Establishment (Pre-Operational)

  • Licensing & Compliance: Lead the finalization of the registration process with the National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE).

  • Strategy Formulation: revise and adopt the initial 5-year strategic business plan, including the unique "Credit Plus" integration model.

  • Resource Mobilization: Oversee capital mobilization from shareholders and establish partnerships with international social investors.

  • Infrastructure Setup: Lead the recruitment of the founding management team and the selection of the Core Banking System (CBS).

Phase B: Post-Formation (Operational)

  • Strategic Leadership: Drive the MFI to become a market leader in "Development-Led Finance" in Ethiopia.

  • Operational Excellence: Manage day-to-day operations across a growing branch network, ensuring efficiency and high-quality customer service.

  • Synergy Management: Collaborate with ORDA Ethiopia’s program directors to align microfinance products with agricultural and WASH project cycles.

  • Financial Stewardship: Ensure the institution remains profitable and self-sustaining while maintaining a high-quality loan portfolio.
