Job Summary
Yesu IT Solutions PLC, is a small but ambitious and fast-growing technology company based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. We specialize in custom software development, digital solutions, system integration, and enterprise applications for clients in finance, government, and private sectors.
We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong blend of computer science expertise, business management skills, and financial acumen. You will be responsible for driving growth, managing operations, overseeing technology delivery, and ensuring profitability — all while working efficiently within a small company environment.
Job Requirements
Education
Master’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management, Business Administration, Finance, or with related field of study.
Experience
3–5 years of relevant professional experience in managing IT projects or software development teams, computer science or IT-related roles (development, systems, or infrastructure).
Experience working in a small company environment with limited resources.
A leadership or senior management role within a small or medium-sized company (preferred).
Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic & Operational Leadership
Develop and implement the company’s strategic plan, balancing growth with financial discipline.
Oversee all business operations, including software development, system integration, hardware procurement, and client support.
Build and lead a small, high-performing team; foster a collaborative and results-driven culture.
Financial Management
Manage full P&L responsibility, including budgeting, cash flow, and profitability.
Prepare and review financial reports, ensuring compliance with Ethiopian tax regulations and reporting standards.
Oversee bank transactions, supplier payments, and financial disbursements.
Business Development & Bids
Search for bids and tenders online (government and private sectors).
Lead preparation and submission of technical and financial proposals.
Follow up on submitted bids and manage post-award coordination until project completion.
Build strong relationships with clients, government entities, and strategic partners.
Technical Oversight
Provide high-level guidance on software development projects.
Understand and advise on hardware requirements for client solutions (servers, networking, end-user devices).
Ensure quality delivery of technology projects and maintain excellent client satisfaction.
Administrative & Compliance
Liaise with the Ministry of Revenue and other government offices for tax filing, compliance, and document submissions.
Handle day-to-day operational decisions with a hands-on approach
Ensure strong corporate governance and regulatory compliance.
Client & Stakeholder Coordination
Handle customer inquiries, respond to calls, and ensure professional communication with clients.
Coordinate with suppliers, service providers, and external stakeholders on technical and financial matters.
Skills & Competencies
Technical Knowledge
Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), programming concepts, and modern development methodologies.
Basic to intermediate hardware knowledge (servers, networking, peripherals).
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, accounting software (e.g., Peachtree), or ERP tools.
Experience with bid/tender preparation, proposal writing, and submission follow-up until project handover.
Finance & Compliance
Solid understanding of bookkeeping, tax regulations, and payment processing.
Experience liaising with the Ministry of Revenue and other government offices.
Ability to manage budgets, cash flow, and financial reporting.
Soft Skills
Excellent organizational, leadership, and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and proactively while managing multiple priorities.
Strong ethical standards, attention to detail, and commitment to confidentiality.
Fluency in English and Amharic is mandatory.
