The Resident Engineer oversees day-to-day construction site activities and ensures that all works — particularly finishing tasks — meet the design specifications, schedule, and quality standards. The role involves on-site technical leadership, problem-solving, and coordination with project stakeholders.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Supervise and inspect site activities, focusing on finishing stages (plastering, flooring, painting, ceilings, etc.)

• Monitor quality control, material usage, and safety compliance

• Ensure timely progress of work in line with project schedules

• Conduct daily site coordination with contractors and subcontractors

• Resolve technical issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented

• Review and validate work done for progress payments

• Prepare site inspection reports and communicate progress to management

• Attend site meetings and ensure proper documentation of decisions and actions

Job Requirements

• BSc in Civil Engineering or related discipline

• Minimum 6 years of on-site construction supervision experience

• Proven knowledge in building finishing works and structural quality control

• Strong leadership and communication skills

• Ability to read and interpret construction and shop drawings

• Computer literacy in AutoCAD, MS Project, and site reporting tools

• Familiarity with local building codes and safety standards
