Core Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct cupping sessions: Perform systematic evaluations of coffee to assess quality, consistency, and defects through sensory analysis of aroma, flavor, acidity, and body.

  • Record and report findings: Document cupping scores and notes accurately and prepare reports for management and production teams.

  • Provide feedback: Communicate detailed feedback to the roasting and production teams to help improve coffee quality.

  • Quality assurance: Ensure all coffee batches meet the company's established quality standards.

  • Maintain equipment and lab: Keep the cupping lab clean and organized and ensure all cupping tools and equipment are properly maintained and calibrated.

  • Stay updated: Keep current with industry trends, new coffee varieties, and emerging evaluation techniques.

  • Collaborate: Work with suppliers and procurement teams to ensure consistency in coffee sourcing.

  • Train staff: Assist in training other staff members on cupping procedures and quality assessment awareness

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Coffee Technology, Food Science, Agriculture, or a related field (preferred).

  • Certified of Q grader. 

  • Has experience in coffee cupping, grading, sensory evaluation, or quality assessment.

  • Strong understanding of coffee quality control procedures and industry standards.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and instructional skills.
