1. Position Summary

The CBR Supervisor is responsible for the technical supervision, quality assurance, and field monitoring of CBR Workers engaged in direct community-based rehabilitation activities under the BEN Ethiopia programme. The position holder ensures that CBR activities are implemented to the required quality standards, that Right- Holders receive consistent and effective services, and that the CBR team operates in accordance with CE's technical guidelines and the approved work plan.

This is a full-time, project-dedicated role at 100% Level of Effort. The CBR Supervisor reports to the Project Coordinator and directly supervises all CBR Workers.

2. Key Duties and Responsibilities

2.1 Supervision and Technical Support

  • Provide regular individual and group supervision to CBR Workers, including structured supervision meetings, field accompaniment, and on-the-job coaching.

  • Review and provide technical feedback on CBR Workers' individual support plans, home visit reports, and beneficiary records.

  • Identify knowledge and skill gaps among CBR Workers and coordinate with the Project Coordinator to address them through training or mentoring.

  • Ensure that CBR Workers apply the correct CBR methodologies and tools across all five programme domains.

  • Support CBR Workers in handling complex cases and facilitate referrals to the Social Worker or external service providers as required.

2.2 Field Monitoring and Quality Assurance

  • Conduct regular scheduled and unannounced field monitoring visits to CBR Workers' caseloads and activity sites.

  • Verify the accuracy and completeness of beneficiary registration, attendance records, and activity reports submitted by CBR Workers.

  • Assess the quality of CBR services delivered and take corrective action where standards are not met.

  • Compile monthly field monitoring reports and share them with the Project Coordinator.

  • Facilitate community feedback mechanisms and ensure beneficiary voices inform programme quality.

2.3 Data Management and Reporting

  • Collect, review, and consolidate data submissions from CBR Workers on a monthly basis using partners standardised tools.

  • Ensure data quality, accuracy, and completeness before submitting to the Project Coordinator for quarterly reporting.

  • Document field observations, successes, and challenges and contribute to the organisation's quarterly and annual reports.

  • Participate in monitoring and evaluation activities, mid-term reviews, and learning events organised by .the partner

2.4 Community Engagement and Coordination

  • Maintain effective working relationships with community leaders, local health workers, schoolteachers, and other community stakeholders to facilitate CBR activities.

  • Support the organization of community awareness and sensitization events on disability inclusion, child rights, and the project's services.

  • Coordinate scheduling and logistics for CBR Workers' field activities to ensure efficient coverage of the target population.

  • Represent the project in community-level meetings when delegated by the Project Coordinator.

2.5 Safeguarding

  • Ensure that all CBR Workers adhere to EECMY-DASSC’s Child Safeguarding Policy, PSEA Policy, and Code of Conduct.

  • Promptly report any safeguarding concerns observed during field visits to the Safeguarding Focal Person and Project Coordinator.

  • Ensure consent procedures are properly followed by CBR Workers during all beneficiary interactions.

 

 Working Conditions

  • Primarily field-based with regular travel to community sites within the implementation area.

  • Some office-based work for supervision meetings, reporting, and data review.

  • May require travel to CE's offices or other project sites for coordination and learning events.

    Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Disability Studies, Public Health, Social Work, or a closely related field.

  • A diploma with substantial CBR experience may be considered in exceptional circumstances.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in community-based rehabilitation, disability-inclusive programming, or community health work.

  • At least 1 year of supervisory or team leadership experience.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the CBR matrix and community-based approaches to disability inclusion.

  • Experience working with children and youth with disabilities is required.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong supervisory, mentoring, and coaching skills.

  • Ability to plan and coordinate field activities across multiple sites.

  • Good written and verbal communication in Local language; working knowledge of English.

  • Proficiency in data collection, record keeping, and basic reporting.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage a team in a community setting.

  • Committed to quality service delivery, disability inclusion, and child protection.
