Contract Type: Short Term for a period of two months. 

Main Purpose: 

The Community Facilitator (CF) supports community-level implementation of activities aimed at preventing human trafficking, modern slavery, and violence against children. The CF works with women’s Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Cluster Level Associations (CLAs), community leaders, and woreda structures to promote awareness, strengthen protection systems, and build community ownership.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

A. SHG Support

  • Support the establishment and facilitation of SHGs.
  • Follow up on SHG progress and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with HFJ safeguarding policies.

B. Community Engagement & Behavior Change

  • Facilitate awareness sessions on child protection, parenting and trafficking.
  • Organize community discussions and forums.

C. Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement

  •  Work with government frontline workers and community leaders.
  •  Maintain communication with community partners.

D. Documentation, Reporting & MEAL Support

  •  Maintain accurate SHG records.
  • Submit weekly and monthly updates.
  • Participate in supervision sessions.

E. General & Safeguarding Responsibilities

  • Adhere to HFJ safeguarding, code of conduct, and protection policies.
  • Report safeguarding concerns immediately.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the PgM.

F. Safeguarding & Ethical Conduct

  • Commitment to HFJ safeguarding and ethical behavior standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality and report any concerns.
Job Requirements

Education:

  • Grade 12 completed or above.

Experience:

  • Minimum 1-year experience in community engagement working with an international NGO.
  • SHG or community facilitation experience.

Skills:

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic digital literacy for photos and reporting.
