Reports To: Project Manager/Construction Manager

Job Summary

The Construction Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising daily construction activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and according to quality standards. The role involves managing site personnel, subcontractors, materials, equipment, and ensuring compliance with company policies and construction regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Site Supervision & Operations

  • Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities on site. 

  • Monitor project progress and ensure work is completed according to approved plans and specifications. 

  • Allocate tasks and resources effectively to meet project deadlines. 

  • Resolve operational issues and site-related challenges promptly. 

  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality workmanship. 

Team Management

  • Lead, motivate, and supervise foremen, skilled workers, and laborers. 

  • Monitor workforce productivity and attendance. 

  • Provide coaching and on-the-job guidance to team members. 

  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluations of site staff. 

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. 

  • Conduct regular safety briefings and toolbox talks. 

  • Identify and mitigate workplace hazards. 

  • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). 

  • Report and investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses. 

Quality Control

  • Ensure construction work meets project specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. 

  • Inspect completed work and coordinate corrective actions when necessary. 

  • Maintain quality control documentation and records. 

Project Coordination

  • Coordinate activities with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and clients. 

  • Monitor material requirements and inventory levels. 

  • Ensure timely delivery and proper utilization of construction materials and equipment. 

  • Assist in project scheduling and resource planning. 

Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports. 

  • Maintain accurate records of labor, equipment, materials, and site activities. 

  • Report project status, delays, and risks to management. 

  • Ensure proper documentation of site instructions and approvals. 

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, Building Technology, or a related field. 

  • 4-5 years of relevant construction experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. 

  • Professional certifications in construction or safety management are an advantage. 

Skills & Competencies Required 

  • Strong leadership and people management skills. 

  • Excellent project coordination and organizational abilities. 

  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations. 

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents. 

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. 

  • Proficiency in MS Office and construction management software. 

  • Excellent communication and reporting skills. 

  • Time management and ability to work under pressure.
