CHADET Ethiopia is a non-profit national development organization registered in Ethiopia that works for the protection and welfare of children found under difficult circumstances. CHADET would like to hire competent staff for Teacher facilitator position in a project that is being designed to provide non-formal education for selected street childrenin Addis Ababa city. The positions and key tasks that are expected of the candidate are outlined as follows:

Summary of the position:Subject to the general guidelines of the organization and directives from the Project Coordinator, the Counselor shall be responsible for coordinating the counseling and child safeguarding activities of the project at the field level and has the following duties and responsibilities:
Provide individual and group counseling sessions to help children overcome learning barriers, manage trauma, and re-engage with education.
Work collaboratively with teachers and facilitators to identify and support children struggling with behavioral or emotional challenges in the classroom
Maintain confidential, accurate, and up-to-date case files, documenting progress and interventions.
Connect children with essential services by making and following up on referrals to medical, legal, and other services
Collaborate with community leaders and partner institutions to strengthen the local child protection referral network.
Prepare regular reports on caseloads, protection trends, and activity progress for the Project Coordinator.
Actively uphold and promote CHADET's values and Child Safeguarding Policy in every aspect of work.
Carry out other similar activities as may be assigned by the project coordinator

Qualifications and experience:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a closely related field with a minimum of four years of experience
Or MA in relevant fields with a minimum of two years of experience in the subject matter.
Competencies:
Proven, hands-on experience working directly with street-connected children, survivors of trauma, or other highly vulnerable youth populations.
Demonstrable experience in handling child protection and gender-based violence (GBV) cases.
Experience working within an educational or non-formal learning setting for at-risk youth.
Strong skills in individual and group counseling techniques appropriate for children and adolescents.
Fluency in written and spoken English and more than one Ethiopian language is highly desirable
Ability and willingness to respect CHADET’s values and safeguarding policy in every aspect of her/his work
