About the Organization:
VisionFund Micro Finance Institution (S.C) is an Institution established according to proclamation No. 40/96 to provide financial services to the productive poor in the rural and urban areas of Ethiopia. VisionFund is currently operating in four of the Regional States of the country.
VisionFund MFI is currently looking candidates to fill the following vacancies for batch recruitment for Deputy Area Manager, role. The successful candidates will have skills and experience that meet the following requirements:
1. Major Responsibilities
The sound extension, monitoring and documentation of branch operations within the area,
· Monitors loan collaterals submitted by clients; and as recommended by the branch, controls and facilitates the selling of these collaterals in coordination with the institution’s legal officer;
· Oversees the implementation of the internal control systems, ensuring the smooth running of the business and safeguarding the institution’s assets; follow up with the concerned branch manager(s) any actions required from the branches as recommended by the audit findings;
· Undertakes and facilitate development of annual plan and budgets for branches
· Maintain the quality of the loan portfolio of the MFI within the area,
· Maintain the deposit level of the branches within the area,
· Assist regional manager on management of the staff in the region,
· Ensures a strong integration and networking with primary partners, local authorities and sectoral line relevant departments.
Branch operations
· Undertakes and facilitate development of annual plan and budgets for branches,
· Assists the Areas Manager to supervises the day-to-day branch operations through the Branch Managers to ensure that the targets set and agreed upon are met;
· Assists the Area Manager to Coordinates with Finance & Accounts department and branch managers to make sure that there is appropriate branch liquidity management;
· Assists the Area Manager to Coordinates with the HR department in planning personnel need and capacity building of the branches,
· Consults with the MIS/ IT department any monitoring or reporting related issues, and resolves the issues at the soonest time possible;
2. Maintaining the quality of the loan portfolio of the MFI within the area
· Assists the Areas Manager in managing loan delinquency by closely monitoring the branches and ensuring strict compliance to all policies and procedures;
· Assists the Areas Manager in managing branch operations outside of acceptable levels.
Management of the staff in the region
· Ensures that the operations staff receive adequate training; Participates in development/ reviews of curriculum for training of the Credit Officers; Collaborates closely with Training Officer in matters of training new and in service operations staff (Credit Officers, tellers and Branch Managers)
Integration and Marketing
· Participate in ensuring a strong integration and networking with Primary partners, local authorities and sectoral line relevant departments
· Assists the Areas Manager in undertaking of client satisfaction surveys, likes and dislikes and focus Group discussions on a regularly basis
· Assists the Areas Manager in ensuring expansion of branch offices in compliance to branch office opening, procedures and standards
· Assists the Areas Manager in ensuring delivery of appropriate reports to the partners, local authorities and other Partners
Maintain the deposit level of the branches within the area
· Assists the Areas Manager in mobilizing savings from the public;
Ensures the existence of quality customer service at branch level
· BA Degree in Accounting/Management/Banking & Finance/Marketing/Agricultural Economics/ Cooperative or relevant social science fields with prolonged experience in MFI
· 6 years work experience out of which two years in supervisory position in credit & saving operation
· Must have clear understanding of MFI Industry
· Can speak local language
· Micro soft and excel applications
· Good command of written & oral English skill is advantageous.
