ATTA Trading Plc, a member of ATTA Group, is a leading construction company engaged in high-rise building construction and ICT infrastructure projects across Ethiopia. The company has successfully executed major Civil, MEP, ICT, and finishing works for large-scale projects nationwide.

We are currently seeking highly qualified and experienced professionals for the position of Deputy Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Manager for the Olympia Project. The project consists of three relatively independent buildings comprising commercial and apartment facilities, with a primary focus on commercial development.

The successful candidate will assist in managing the overall Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) construction activities of the project, ensuring proper execution of M&E systems related to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, firefighting, and equipment installation works.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Water Supply & Drainage Engineering, Electro Mechanical Engineering or with related field of study

  • Professional certifications related to M&E works are an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant M&E construction management experience.

  • Proven experience in Commercial complex projects, Apartment/high-rise building projects

  • Experience in overseas construction projects, preferably in Ethiopia or Africa, is highly preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the M&E Manager and Project Manager in the overall management and coordination of Mechanical & Electrical works for the Olympia Project.

  • Supervise and control M&E construction activities, including electrical systems, low-voltage systems, plumbing, drainage, HVAC, firefighting systems, and equipment installations.

  • Review M&E shop drawings, construction plans, and technical submissions to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.

  • Resolve on-site technical and construction-related M&E issues effectively and efficiently.

  • Develop and monitor project schedules for M&E works, ensuring timely completion of milestones.

  • Coordinate M&E activities with civil, finishing, and other construction disciplines to ensure smooth project execution.

  • Manage M&E manpower, materials, and equipment allocation on-site.

  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety procedures, and project specifications.

  • Monitor project costs, material usage, variation orders, and wastage control.

  • Conduct safety inspections and enforce safe working procedures for M&E construction activities.

  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, supervisors, and subcontractors regarding inspections, approvals, negotiations, and project handover activities.

  • Prepare progress reports, technical reports, and project documentation.

  • Guide, supervise, and support local M&E teams and subcontractors.

  • Perform other duties assigned by the Project Manager.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of M&E systems, including Electrical systems, HVAC systems, Plumbing and drainage systems, Firefighting systems

  • Ability to review and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.

  • Strong understanding of M&E construction standards, installation methods, and acceptance procedures.

  • Excellent project planning, coordination, and team management skills.

  • Ability to manage project cost, quality, safety, and schedule effectively.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.

  • Good communication and reporting skills.

  • Basic English communication skills are preferred.

  • Ability to independently manage M&E works for individual buildings or project sections.

  • Strong understanding of commercial building M&E systems, particularly Commercial HVAC systems, High-voltage power systems, Fire protection systems, Commercial utility systems

  • Strong adaptability to overseas project environments and multicultural teams.

  • High level of responsibility, commitment, and execution capability.
