Duties and Responsibilities

• Compile, maintain, and log baseline Bills of Quantities (BoQs), technical drawings, and site dossier records.

• Prepare, revise, and update detailed architectural, structural, and layout drawings (layouts, elevations, and sections) for telecom facilities using AutoCAD.

• Perform initial reviews of design drafts against local municipal building codes and civil work standards.

• Verify architectural compliance with telecom operator standards and engineering requirements.

• Manage the telecom civil works design lifecycle from planning to implementation.

• Review foundation layouts and shelter positioning for telecom infrastructure.

• Participate in site acceptance testing (SAT) and project handover activities.

• Evaluate contractor performance, workmanship, and construction quality.

• Support cost optimization initiatives through efficient engineering and design practices.

• Design equipment room layouts and cable routing pathways for telecom systems.

• Ensure compliance with telecom regulations, local authority standards, and civil engineering requirements.

• Ensure proper ventilation, safety access, and equipment spacing in telecom facilities.

• Design physical floor plans, equipment layouts, and spatial allocations for core sites, data centers, and switching centers to maximize rack density while maintaining safe maintenance clearances.

• Analyze and validate foundation and rooftop structural capacities to support dead loads of antennas, generators, battery banks, and hybrid power systems.

• Convert radio frequency (RF) and transmission network requirements into practical civil and architectural site designs.

• Establish rigorous technical specifications for specialized building elements, including fire-rated doors, anti-static raised flooring, thermal insulation systems, weatherproofing materials

• Coordinate rooftop and tower infrastructure planning to support telecom deployment requirements.

• Develop and maintain accurate as-built drawings upon project completion.

• Prepare technical documentation, engineering reports, and project progress records.

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent skills in 3D modeling, rendering and presentation

• Reading, writing and speaking English and Amharic are mandatory for all positions ( advanced level)

• Project administration and coordination, project control and monitoring, project scheduling and timeline management.

• Strong decision-making ability in engineering and operational environments.

• Results-oriented approach with a focus on obtaining measurable outcomes.

• Expertise in engineering and architectural design for telecom infrastructure.

• Contract execution control and contractor management.

• Knowledge of the building sector, construction practices, and maintenance management.
