It is also engaged in different business lines including import, export, metal fabrication, after sales services, and cargo freight transport operations. The company wishes to employ a qualified professional for the Director, Supply Chain Management position:
General Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop strategies and oversee the overall planning and implementation processes of purchasing, warehousing, inventory planning and control, and distribution functions to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations and boost customer service while ensuring compliance with company policy and procedures.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop strategies for supply chain management, including sourcing, purchasing, warehousing, distribution and inventory management functions; and develop budgets, policies, and procedures to support those functional activities.
Set a strategy for Demand Planning, Purchasing and Inventory Control to ensure that effective Supply Chain Management Program is executed to support company growth strategies, which is adaptable to changing market conditions, new business opportunities, or cost reduction strategies.
Develop procurement, inventory planning and control, and warehouse management policy and procedure.
Develop and monitor the company’s procurement system with the objective to improve productivity and efficiency and reduce costs, while ensuring availability of high-quality material with the right price, at the right place and the right time.
Oversee team delivery against key performance metrics for measurement, or evaluation of supply chain factors, such as product cost, on-time delivery, or quality.
Develop procedures for coordination of supply chain management with other functional areas, such as After Sales, Marketing, Finance, Production Planning and Control or Quality control.
Lead reduction of overall supply chain risk through development of supply chain contingencies and proactive resolutions for demand and supply imbalances and disruption.
Collaborate with other departments, such as production, engineering, and quality assurance, to identify or qualify new suppliers.
Design plant warehousing strategies for production materials or finished products.
Liaise with the production planners to forecast demand or create supply plans that ensure availability of materials or products.
Direct activities related to strategic or tactical purchasing, material requirements planning, inventory control, warehousing, or receiving.
Evaluate and select methods or other technology solutions to improve tracking and reporting of materials or products distribution, storage, or inventory.
Build a strong multi-locational team atmosphere and foster collaboration across the Company.
Oversee implantation of all internal policies and procedures in accordance with company, human resources, budgetary, and finance guidelines.
Analyze data and processes, find creative solutions, generate reports and present findings to upper management and other departments, communicate with external suppliers and buyers, comprehend legal documents, and developing lasting relationships with others.
Direct logistics process for the development of new products, inventory maintenance, manufacturing, shipment and delivery, etc.
Ensure maintenance of detailed records, generate reports, and develop presentations to help management understand the logistics perspective.
Ensure improvements at all aspects of the supply chain by reviewing current methodology and processes.
Coordinate with the MIS and Finance departments to create effective databases to manage and organize warehouse inventory.
Oversee the development of the most cost-efficient in-bound logistics procedures and methods.
Oversee inventory status by ensuring a detailed database of available inventory and expected usage per project or business unit.
Research partner companies and negotiate best-price contracts to increase revenues.
Oversee the management of Human Resources: interview, select and hire; train new and existing employees; assign jobs; address employee performance and corrective action plans; employee motivation and rewards; coach, counsel and discipline.
Prepare performance reports for submission to the Managing Director.

Qualification : BA/BSc or MA/MSc in Supply Management, Business administration or related field
Work Experience : 12 years for BA/BSc, and 10 years for MA/MSc graduate in relevant role
Skills and Abilities:
Computer skill, communication skills, English language proficiency
Experience with enterprise resource planning software (ERP)
Cross functional team leadership skill
Adequate knowledge of supply chain management
Understanding of Finance and Accounting
Good human, conceptual and technical skill
Proactive problem solving with a desire to collaborate with others
