Job Summary
Under the general direction and supervision of the Head, Program Management and Resource mobilization DRM expert execute the program Management activities of the zonal branch; Execute program Management activities of the zonal branch; Establish and deploy strong and functional emergency BDRT & rescue teams; Identifies disintegrated families, reunifies keeps a record and designs ways for restoring family links. And report tracing developments to the zonal branch; Coordinates response of disasters through available resources at the zonal level; Deploys and operates ambulances based on existing system; provides first aid training; Undertake Vulnerability Capacity assessment and Rapid need assessment and disseminates the results to all relevant stakeholders; Implements zonal disaster preparedness and food security programs; Periodically report to senior DRM on progress and implementation of disaster preparedness & food security programs; Takes part in the formulation, fund soliciting and implementation activities of locally funded projects on mandate areas in consultation with concerned bodies; Facilitate and assist on any capacity building programs carried out by Headquarter and ensure its sustainability;
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
1. Execute DRM activities of the zonal branch;
2. Establish and deploy strong and functional emergency BDRT & rescue teams;
3. Identifies disintegrated families, reunifies keeps records, and designs ways for restoring family links. And report tracing developments to the regional branch;
4. Coordinates response of disasters through available resources to the zonal level;
5. Deploys and operates ambulances based on existing system; provides first aid training;
6. Takes part in project proposals preparation to address the needs of the vulnerable including rehabilitation and development needs;
7. Takes part in Vulnerability Capacity assessment and Rapid need assessment and disseminates the results to all relevant stakeholders;
8. Participate in assessment activities on zonal disaster hazards in collaboration with relevant authorities;
9. Monitors ambulance services in Woreda branches;
10. Identify possible zonal hazards and design mechanisms to address them;
11. in collaboration with the senior DRM officer Plans, designs, and implements strategies to address zonal disasters;
12. Identifies and proposes partnership and cooperation with local NGOs and business institutions having zonal coverage;
13. Implements zonal disaster preparedness and food security programs;
14. Periodically report to senior DRM on progress and implementation of disaster preparedness & food security programs;
15. Takes part in the formulation, fund soliciting, and implementation activities of locally funded projects on mandate areas in consultation with concerned bodies;
16. Facilitate and assist in any capacity building programs carried out by ensuring their sustainability;
17. Follows and complies with the technical/expert direction of the senior DRM officer
18. Reports periodically his/her performance to the Senior Disaster risk management officer; &
19. Performs other related duties as may be assigned by the head, Program management, and resource mobilization
Salary: 16,814.00
