Position Summary:

We are seeking a responsible, reliable, and safety-conscious Driver to provide safe and timely transportation services, as well as administrative and logistical support to Pharo Ventures staff. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the organization's daily operations and will be required to undertake frequent travel within Addis Ababa and to regional locations outside Addis Ababa as needed.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned Vehicle: check oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc.,

  • Ensure that Pharo Ventures vehicle is used only for official/authorized business as advised by the supervisor.

  • Ensure that the steps required by traffic police, Insurance company & local rules & regulations are taken in case of involvement in an accident; and timely report to supervisor

  • Ensures to keep his/her driving license valid.

  • Provide Administrative and logistical support as assigned by immediate supervisor.

  • Ensure the safety of all passengers in the car by ensuring that passengers and drivers wear seat belts. The driver observes all traffic rules, does not drive beyond the allowed speed limit of the road, and ensures the safety of the surrounding areas.

  • Ensure that the first aid kit is well equipped and easily accessible for use.

  • Ensure that insurance registration and annual inspection of the vehicle is valid. Maintain copies of insurance documents, ensuring that the renewal of insurance and annual inspection for vehicle is carried out in timely manner.

  • Responsible to keep the assigned vehicle is kept clean, secured, orderly and serviceable condition at all times; perform minor preventive maintenance; follow up with maintenance requirements of assigned vehicle.

  • Responsible for preparing monthly activity, fuel consumption & expenditure report and presenting these to supervisor every month.

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Requirements

Qualification Requirements:

  • Secondary school education or equivalent (preferred)

  • Willingness and ability to undertake frequent travel outside Addis Ababa as required.

  • Auto mechanics level 3 certificate preferred.

  • Basic vehicle repair and maintenance skill.

  • At least 5 years’ experience as driver with a government or international organization and experience in driving four-wheel drive vehicles.

  • Have a valid driving license Grade 3

Job Requirements The successful candidate should possess a Secondary School Education or equivalent, with an Auto Mechanics Level III Certificate preferred. A minimum of 5 years of driving experience with a government or international organization, including experience operating four-wheel-drive vehicles, is required. Demonstrated ability to perform basic vehicle repair and maintenance, travel frequently outside Addis Ababa as required, ensure safe and efficient transportation services, and maintain vehicles in good operating condition is essential.
