JOB SUMMARY

The ERP Functional Consultant is a mid-level consulting role responsible for actively supporting and independently executing ERP implementation activities across assigned functional modules. Working closely with and under the leadership of the Senior ERP Functional Consultant, this professional will contribute meaningfully to business requirements gathering, ERP configuration, testing, training delivery, and post-go-live support.  The ERP Functional Consultant is expected to bring real, hands-on ERP experience — not just theoretical knowledge. They must be able to configure ERP modules, prepare documentation to professional standards, deliver training to end users, and manage their assigned implementation workstreams with minimal supervision.  OVID IT's reputation with its clients depends on the quality and reliability of its ERP consultants. The ERP Functional Consultant must therefore be disciplined, delivery-focused, and committed to producing work that meets the highest professional standards on every engagement.

 

 MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in and independently execute ERP functional implementation activities for assigned modules

• Conduct business requirements gathering sessions with client business users and process owners

• Document business requirements, current-state and future-state process flows, and configuration specifications

• Configure ERP modules based on approved functional design documents and client business requirements

• Develop and execute system integration test (SIT) scripts and support UAT planning and execution

• Identify, log, and support resolution of functional defects and configuration issues

• Develop end-user training materials and deliver structured training sessions to client teams

• Support data migration activities — data mapping, data cleaning validation, and migration testing

• Prepare and maintain project documentation to OVID IT's quality standard

• Coordinate with ERP technical consultants on customization requirements and integration issues

• Provide post-go-live functional support, issue resolution, and user guidance

• Support the Senior ERP Functional Consultant in managing client expectations and project delivery activities

• Continuously develop functional knowledge across ERP modules and stay updated on new releases and features

Job Requirements

 REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 4 years of ERP functional consulting or ERP implementation experience

• Hands-on configuration experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations or Dynamics AX , SAP, ODOO, ORACLE is required

• Experience in at least one of: Finance, Supply Chain, HR, or Manufacturing ERP modules

• Participation in at least 2 end-to-end ERP implementation projects

• Experience with requirements gathering, UAT management, and end-user training delivery

• Understanding of Ethiopian business processes (finance, procurement, HR) is a significant advantage

 

 ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field

• A background in accounting or finance is highly valued for Finance module consultants

 

 PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS

• Finance Functional Consultant Associate 

• Supply Chain Management Functional Consultant Associate– Strongly preferred

• Human Resources Functional Consultant Associate– advantageous

• PMP or PRINCE2 Foundation – advantageous

• Any relevant Microsoft Learn module completion badges – advantageous

• Ability to manage assigned implementation workstreams with accountability and minimal supervision

• Proactive in identifying configuration issues, testing gaps, and delivery risks

• Willing to support and provide informal guidance to Associate ERP Consultants

• Professional, client-facing demeanor and the ability to work directly with client business teams

• Commitment to meeting project milestones and delivering high-quality work consistently

 

 COMMUNICATION & INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

• Good verbal and written communication in English; Amharic fluency required for Ethiopian client engagements

• Ability to write clear BRDs, functional design notes, and test scripts

• Effective workshop participation and business requirements discussion facilitation

• Clear and professional communication with client business users during training and support

• Ability to produce accurate project status updates and documentation to OVID IT standards
