The Export and Import Manager oversees, directs, and coordinates all activities related to global sourcing, international sales, shipping, and customs clearance of both agricultural commodities export and incoming trade goods. The role is heavily focused on identifying reliable international suppliers, conducting market supply and demand analysis, managing international trade regulations, ensuring strict compliance with National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE) foreign exchange laws, and balancing efficient import processes with global market export expansion.

Job Requirement

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management or with related field of study with relevant work experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Documentation Management: Ensure mandatory trade documents (Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificates of Origin, Phytosanitary Certificates) are correctly and timely prepared. Manage L/C, CAD, and advance payment settlements with banks.

• Regulatory Compliance: Oversee seamless customs declaration and clearance at dry and border exit points in compliance with MoTRI, ECC, and NBE directives. Stay updated on export quotas, minimum export prices, and tariffs.

• Sourcing & Logistics: Coordinate cereal procurement via the ECX or direct farm sourcing. Manage relationships with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and warehouse operators. Monitor cereal quality controls (moisture, purity) to meet international standards.

• Market Development: Identify and secure reliable international buyers for Ethiopian agricultural products, negotiating competitive pricing and shipping terms to protect company financial margins.
