Short Description of the Position
The HR Officer (Factory) is responsible for managing HR and administrative functions at the factory site in Gelan, ensuring smooth employee relations, compliance with labor laws, and efficient workforce management. The role involves assisting in recruitment, employee engagement, documentation, health and safety compliance, and administrative support to enhance productivity and a positive work environment within the factory.
Duty station: Shegar City, Gelan Sub City
Reports to: Factory Admin Head

Assist in managing employee relations by addressing grievances, disputes, and workplace issues.
Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies at the factory level.
Maintain proper documentation of disciplinary actions and support supervisors in handling employee concerns.
Assist in the recruitment process, including posting job vacancies, screening applications, and scheduling interviews.
Support onboarding of new employees by preparing contracts, ensuring policy awareness, and facilitating orientation sessions.
Maintain an updated electronic database of job applicants for future reference.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, both electronic and physical files.
Handle administrative tasks such as writing letters, and reports
Maintain proper records of all types of leave and ensure proper authorization and documentation.
Support the preparation and documentation of HR-related reports and meetings.
Assist in preparing and maintaining records for employee insurance claims.
Ensure proper stock and distribution of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all factory employees.
Coordinate health and safety training and ensure compliance with occupational health regulations.
Monitor factory working conditions and ensure that necessary actions are taken to maintain a safe environment.
Assist in organizing events, training sessions, workshops, and engagement programs for factory employees.
Support initiatives to improve employee motivation and workplace culture.
Ensure the provision of staff identification cards and other facilities.
Handle any other HR and administrative tasks as assigned by the HR Manager.
Serve as a key point of contact for HR-related issues at the factory site.

Proficiency in English and Amharic is required; knowledge of Oromifa is a plus.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in HR, preferably in a factory or manufacturing setting.
Strong knowledge of Ethiopian labor laws and HR best practices.
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
