The purpose of the job is to ensure uninterrupted operation of the forehearth and feeder system during glass production. This role plays a vital part in managing the flow of molten glass, maintaining its temperature, viscosity, and feeding rate, and troubleshooting any issues that may arise to support high-quality glass production.

Job Requirements

Required Knowledge and skills (Competence)

Education

  • BSc degree or TVET diploma (Level 5) in in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.

  • Specialized training in glass forming machinery, forehearth temperature control, and feeder system operations.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years in a glass manufacturing environment, specifically feeder operations and forehearth systems.

Skills

  • In-depth understanding of glass melting and forming processes.

  • Experience with automatic and manual feeder systems used in glass production.

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical faults in forehearth equipment.

  • Ability to analyze viscosity variations and take corrective actions.

  • Strong analytical skills for diagnosing production flow disruptions.

  • Quick decision-making ability when addressing molten glass inconsistencies.
