Job Summary: -

As a senior Leadership member of the commercial organization, the role of the FSM is to Develop and implement a profitable business operation in the sales regions by strictly implementing the national sales and marketing strategy in the assigned sales territories and regions.

Key Responsibilities

Route to Market

  • Implement a route-to-market strategy catering to the expectations and needs of retailers (on & off trade) to ensure company’s competitiveness in the market.

  • Implement a Distributor management strategy with a specific focus on planning, implementation, financial health, and professional behavior of Key Distributors in the region.

Consumer and customer Marketing

  • Implement Consumer and Customer Marketing Strategy for the Business unit to ensure consistency with the overall company strategy and to execute upon the approval of the commercial director.

  • This includes the use of customer and consumer value drivers to achieve a competitive advantage at all levels of the trade.

People

  • Lead the sales team in best practice processes and develop their capabilities through performance management, coaching and identification of training needs

  • Ensure the optimum organizational structure for the regional sales function in close collaboration with HR.

  • Monitor the development and execution of on-the-job training and coaching programs for the sales team with in the regions.

Sales Strategy

  • Define the portfolio sales strategy in the regions responsible to contribute to the overall DBSC business in Ethiopia, including identification of insight-based opportunities

  • Lead the RSMs and the regional sales team, and any third-party agencies, in developing sales activity strategies to build long-term brand equity and deliver business objectives

  • Keep the portfolio strategy under review and recommend revisions as relevant

Implementation of sales programs 

  • Supervise the production of annual sales plans through which to build long-term sales plan and deliver business and sales objectives. 

  • Lead the Regional RSMs and their sales team in identifying targets and metrics across all areas of the sales functions with which to monitor and report on the effectiveness of sales strategies and activity programs.

  • Ensure that agreed sales activity programs are effectively implemented, on budget and on time, with evaluations of major initiatives to capture learning for future sales planning.

Budget

  • Determine the sales expenditure required to meet sales targets   and manage the allocation of the annual sales budget across sales and activity programs.

  • Ensure that the sales team monitor and report on sales expenditure.  Work with the Finance team to ensure accurate accruals and expenditure forecasts are prepared

Job Requirements

 Required Qualification & Experience

  • MBA or BA in Sales or Business Management Degree

  • 10 years of sales and/or distribution experience with 4 years at the senior management level, ideally in the FMCG or beer industry

  • High level of commercial and business understanding

  • Ability to plan and organize

  • Sound knowledge of the local and international beer industry
