JOB SUMMARY
The Finance and Admin Assistant plays a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations by supporting accounting transactions, administrative tasks, and communication within the sub-field office while upholding donor requirements and SP financial policies. This role contributes to the organization’s financial health by assisting with audits, monitoring transactions, and preparing invoices. Success in the position requires a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, strong communication skills, and solid knowledge of financial systems, policies, and procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide required weekly reports by specified deadlines to the Field Accountant.
- Ensure compliance to with Samaritan’s Purse field accounting policies.
- Review and ensure accuracy of financial transactions for Samaritan’s Purse field operations based in the region as appropriate (includes vouchers, FERs, Cash Advances, transfers, etc.)
- Ensure all cash is reconciled on a daily basis, reporting any over/under to the Field Accountant.
- Administer all cash advances to employees and partners, reconciling receipts and cash.
- Support the Field Accountant during internal and external audit activities.
- Ensure finance documents are properly filed and maintained.
- Scanning and archiving large quantities of data.
- Ensure that the scanner is well maintained.
- Handling sensitive documents which require a trustworthy individual.
- Compiling, checking and proper filing of all financial documents.
- Any other duties as may be required from time to time.
Education / Experience Needed
Bachelor of Art in Accounting/Finance or Business Management.
2/3 years work experience working with International NGO’s and US Government award desired
LANGUAGE
Proficiency in English and Amharic
Knowledge of the regional language required
Knowledge of any other national language is a plus
