Job Purpose
The Finance & Tax Manager is responsible for leading the finance team, ensuring proper financial planning, reporting, compliance, and control of company resources. The role ensures accurate financial records, compliance with statutory and tax regulations, cost efficiency, and effective cash flow management. In addition, the position oversees tax planning and ensures timely submission of statutory returns, supporting management in making informed business decisions for the growth and sustainability of My Hello Communication PLC.
Job Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or with related field of study
Professional certification in ACCA, CPA is preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 6–8 years progressive experience in finance/accounting, at least 3 years in a managerial role.
Experience in telecom/distribution/logistics sector is an added advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Budgeting – 20%
Prepare annual budgets and forecasts aligned with company strategy.
Monitor budget utilization and recommend corrective actions.
Financial Reporting & Analysis – 20%
Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Provide analysis on revenue, expenses, profitability, and cash flow.
Present financial performance reports to management.
Tax Planning & Compliance
Ensure accurate and timely filing of all tax returns (VAT, Withholding Tax, Excise, Income Tax, Payroll Tax, etc.).
Maintain compliance with Ethiopian tax laws, directives, and regulatory requirements.
Provide tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities and optimize company savings.
Act as the primary contact with tax authorities and external auditors during reviews or audits.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management – 15%
Monitor daily cash flow and ensure liquidity for operations.
Manage banking relationships and optimize use of credit facilities.
Oversee payments, collections, and reconciliations.
Compliance & Risk Management – 15%
Ensure compliance with tax laws, financial regulations, and audit requirements.
Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies.
Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Internal Controls & Policies – 10%
Develop and enforce financial policies and procedures.
Ensure strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Team Leadership & Development – 10%
Supervise, train, and mentor the finance team.
Ensure proper delegation and accountability in daily operations.
Support for Strategic Initiatives – 10%
Provide financial insights for expansion projects (e.g., new branches, delivery services).
Advise management on investment and cost-saving opportunities.
Other Duties: %
Perform work orders and assignments from the General Manager as required.
Skills & Competencies
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Excellent financial analysis and problem-solving ability.
Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax law, IFRS, and regulatory compliance.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Peachtree, ERP systems) and MS Excel.
High integrity, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Strong communication and presentation skills.

Accuracy and timeliness of financial reports (monthly/quarterly/yearly).
Budget variance kept within ±5%.

Reduction of financial risks through strong controls.

Cost-saving initiatives implemented and achieved annually.
