Job Summary
The Finance Division Head is responsible for leading and managing the overall financial operations of the SACCO. The role ensures strong financial management, accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, budget control, and strategic financial planning. The position also plays a key role in safeguarding the financial health and sustainability of the institution.
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or with related field of study
Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience

Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Management
Oversee all financial operations including accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
Ensure timely preparation of financial statements in accordance with applicable standards.
Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and financial performance of the SACCO.
Budgeting and Planning
Lead the annual budgeting process and financial forecasting.
Monitor budget implementation and provide variance analysis.
Support strategic planning with financial insights and projections.
Accounting and Reporting
Ensure proper maintenance of accounting records and financial documentation.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Present financial reports to management and the board.
Internal Control and Compliance
Ensure compliance with financial regulations, SACCO bylaws, and audit requirements.
Strengthen internal control systems to minimize financial risk and fraud.
Coordinate internal and external audits and implement audit recommendations.
Treasury and Fund Management
Manage cash flow, bank relations, and fund allocation efficiently.
Ensure proper management of savings, loans, and liquidity reserves.
Oversee payment processing and financial transactions.
Leadership and Supervision
Lead and supervise finance department staff.
Provide coaching, training, and performance evaluation for team members.
Promote accountability and high performance within the finance team.
Risk Management
Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
Ensure credit risk coordination with loan departments.
Maintain financial sustainability and capital adequacy.
Skills & Competencies
Strong financial management and analytical skills.
Deep understanding of SACCO or financial cooperative operations.
Leadership and team management capability.
High integrity and ethical standards.
Strong knowledge of financial regulations and reporting standards.
