Agitu Edeo Foundation (AEF) is a local organization established in Addis Ababa in 2021. It is registered with the Ethiopian Civil Society Organizations Authority (Registry No. 5453) under Proclamation No. 1113/2019.

AEF works to:

• Empower women and encourage their participation as citizens and members of society

• Promote women's entrepreneurship

• Improve agricultural productivity through appropriate agricultural technologies

• Build the capacity of women farmers through training, advisory services and sharing of best practices

• Advance women's reproductive health, hygiene, family planning and gender education

• Enable and integrate immigrants and returnees in their host and home communities

• Promote sustainable, environmentally friendly development and the conservation of natural resources

To strengthen its work, AEF invites qualified and committed candidates to apply for the following four positions.

Reports to: Manager (with reporting access to the Board of Trustees)

Place of work: Addis Ababa

Employment type: Full time

Salary: Negotiable

Summary: Manages AEF's financial systems, ensuring transparency, accountability and compliance with legal and donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare annual budgets and monitor expenditure against them

• Maintain accurate accounting records and sound internal controls

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for the Board, donors and regulatory authorities

• Manage cash flow, banking, payroll, procurement and asset records

• Ensure compliance with the CSO Proclamation No. 1113/2019, tax regulations and donor financial requirements

• Coordinate audits and implement audit recommendations

• Advise management and the Board on financial planning and risk

• Supervise finance and administrative support staff

Job Requirements

Qualifications and experience

• BA/BSc in Accounting, Finance or a related field; an MA/MSc, CPA or ACCA is an advantage

• At least 5 years of relevant financial management experience, preferably in an NGO/CSO

• Experience in donor-funded project accounting and reporting

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally, Peachtree) and MS Excel

• High integrity, attention to detail and strong analytical skills

• Good command of English and Amharic; knowledge of other local languages are an asset

Job Requirements The successful candidate should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in financial management, preferably within a non-governmental organization (NGO) or civil society organization (CSO). A Master’s Degree in a related field or professional certifications such as CPA or ACCA is an added advantage. Experience in donor-funded project accounting and financial reporting is also required.
