Position Overview:
The Finance Intern will actively support the finance team in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and performing analyses to help drive informed business decisions. This role is designed for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in corporate finance, accounting, and financial planning. The intern will collaborate with various team members, gaining exposure to real-world financial processes and systems, while contributing to the efficiency and accuracy of the finance function.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and ledgers.
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Support accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice verification and payment follow-ups.
Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flows.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities.
Assist in audit preparations and documentation.
Conduct basic financial analysis and data validation to support decision-making.
Prepare reports and presentations for management as required.
Perform ad hoc finance tasks assigned by the finance team.
Job Requirements
Educations
Recent BA degree graduates (from 2024 onwards) in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
CGPA: 3.25 & above
Passed Exit exam
Technical Skills & Abilities :
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis).
Familiarity with accounting software (Peachtree accounting software) is a plus.
Understanding financial statements and accounting principles.
Basic knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Ability to interpret and analyze financial data.
Strong analytical and numerical skills
Behavioral Competencies
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Eagerness to learn and take initiative.
KPIs (Key Performance Indicators):
Accuracy of financial record-keeping and data entry (target: 95% error-free).
Timeliness of monthly and quarterly financial reports.
Number of bank reconciliations completed on time.
Support provided for audit and compliance activities.
Contribution to budgeting and forecasting activities.
Responsiveness and effectiveness in completing ad hoc tasks and financial analysis.
Demonstrated learning and improvement in finance processes over the internship period.
