IHI is looking for a Finance Officer for Gates Foundation funded- Improving Neonatal Survival project.
Duty Station: Addis Ababa, with travel to project sites

The Finance Officer under the supervision of the Associate Finance Manager plays a critical role in the daily financial operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and effective financial management. This role is responsible for overseeing transactional accounting, preparing detailed financial reports, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and maintaining robust internal controls. The Candidate should be an experienced professional who can handle complex financial tasks and provide valuable financial insights to management.
The Finance Officer is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the financial records through the accurate and timely execution of daily accounting operations and managing month-end and year-end close procedures. This role involves the preparation of comprehensive financial reports and statements, supporting the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes, and analyzing performance variances against the budget. The Finance officer ensures strict adherence to internal financial controls and external regulatory/accounting standards.
Job Requirements
Position Qualification Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Willingness to commit to IHI’s mission and values.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
Ten or more years of experience
Proficiency in accounting software like quick book is strictly mandatory.
A professional accounting qualification is highly desirable
Expert knowledge of general accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal control frameworks.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas, data analysis)
