Job Summary

The Financial Controller oversees BWA’s financial management, budgeting, and cash flow strategies. Working alongside operations and sales, this role leads project costing, stock valuations, tax compliance, financial reporting, and general ledger oversight while supervising accounting staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Planning: Lead cash flow forecasting, financial analysis, margin evaluations, and annual budget plans.

• Costing & Inventory: Execute project cost estimations, perform stock audits, manage inventory valuations, and track purchasing budgets.

• Ledger & Payroll: Direct daily accounting operations, maintain the General Ledger, prepare financial statements, and review payroll.

• Tax & Compliance: Oversee statutory filings (VAT, Withholding, and Income Tax), establish internal controls, and coordinate external audits.

• Reconciliation & Reporting: Reconcile bank accounts, manage fixed assets, and deliver weekly and bi-weekly financial/operational reports.

Job Requirements

Requirements

• Education: BA/MA in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• Experience: 5+ years in finance/accounting, including 2+ years in a supervisory role (trading/construction industry preferred).

• Skills: Advanced Excel, proficiency in accounting software’s, strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax regulations, and team leadership.

Job Requirements The successful candidate should possess a BA or MA Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in finance or accounting, including at least 2 years of experience in a supervisory role. Experience in the trading or construction industry is preferred. Strong financial management, accounting, leadership, analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills are also required.
