The Financial Data Analyst is responsible for analyzing and interpreting financial data to provide actionable insights that support strategic decision-making and ensure financial compliance across East African Holding. This role plays a critical part in forecasting, risk assessment, and reporting by developing financial models, monitoring KPIs, and collaborating with finance, audit, and tax teams to enhance the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of financial operations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Analyze financial statements, reports, and trends to provide insights into company performance.

  2. Develop financial models to assess profitability, revenue forecasting, and expense management.

  3. Generate reports and dashboards to support decision-making at the BoD level

  4. Identify financial risks related to tax compliance, reporting standards, and regulatory changes.

  5. Work with tax specialists and auditors to ensure accurate reporting and mitigate compliance risks.

  6. Conduct financial risk assessments and suggest corrective actions.

  7. Collect and structure financial data for in-depth analysis and forecasting.

  8. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial health metrics.

  9. Support the Finance Director in internal audits and tax audits.

  10. Present financial findings and risk assessments to senior management.

  11. Work closely with accounting, treasury, and finance teams to ensure data accuracy.

  12. Assist in preparing financial reports for external stakeholders when required

Job Requirements

Required Qualification:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

  • A Master’s degree in Finance, Business Analytics, or a related discipline is an advantage.

  • Professional certifications such ACCA are preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in financial analysis, risk assessment, or related roles.

  • Strong background in tax compliance, financial regulations, and risk management.

  • Proven ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic recommendations.

Competence Requirement; 

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large financial datasets.

  • In-depth knowledge of financial reporting standards (IFRS) and tax regulations.

  • Proficiency in financial analysis tools, ERP systems, and Microsoft office especially in Excel.

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial insights clearly.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
