The organization works in collaboration with government bodies, UN agencies, NGOs, and community partners to create protective environments and promote positive socio-economic change in conflict-affected and underserved regions of the country.
Reports to; GBV Project Manager & Senior Program Manager
Supervises: MHPSS Officers, case management officers, Health officers, & Legal support officers.
Type of Employment- Four Months Contract with possibility of extension based on fund availability
ROLE PURPOSE:
The Mobile GBV Response Team is established to deliver integrated, survivor-centered, and confidential services to individuals affected by gender-based violence in hard-to-reach and underserved areas. The team, composed of legal, health, MHPSS, and GBV case management professionals, ensures timely access to medical care, psychosocial support, legal assistance, and safe case management services, promoting survivor safety, dignity, and access to justice in humanitarian and emergency settings.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Project Leadership & Management
Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of integrated GBV prevention and response activities.
Develop project work plans, budgets, and monitoring frameworks.
Ensure services are survivor-centered, confidential, culturally appropriate, and aligned with humanitarian principles.
Supervise and support GBV officers, caseworkers, MHPSS staff, legal experts, and community mobilizers.
2. Technical & Quality Assurance-through mobile approach
Provide technical guidance on GBV case management, psychosocial support, legal assistance, health referrals, and safe spaces
Ensure compliance with international standards (e.g., GBV guiding principles) and national protection policies.
Develop, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and referral pathways.
3. Coordination & Communication
Represent the project mobile team in GBV coordination forums, clusters, and inter-agency meetings.
Strengthen collaboration with government woredas, Woreda health, Hospitals, one stop centers, Justice, woman affairs, UN agencies, NGOs, and community-based protection groups.
Ensure effective referral mechanisms with health, legal, protection, and security actors.
4. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
Develop monitoring tools and ensure timely, accurate data collection and analysis.
Prepare quality donor reports (monthly, quarterly).
Conduct regular field monitoring visits and ensure ethical data management and confidentiality.
5. Advocacy & Community Engagement
Lead community awareness and prevention campaigns on GBV and gender equality.
Promote community-based protection mechanisms and survivor support networks.
Support male engagement and youth-focused GBV prevention initiatives.
6. Compliance & Safeguarding
Ensure adherence to safeguarding, Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), and child protection policies.
Uphold ethical standards, survivor dignity, and strict confidentiality in all interventions
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree and above in Gender Studies, Social Work, Psychology, law, health, or related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in GBV programming in humanitarian or development settings.
Progressive experience in project cycle management in humanitarian settings
Demonstrated experience in case management and survivor-centered approaches.
Strong knowledge of international GBV standards and protection principles.
Experience managing teams and budgets.
Excellent report writing and communication skills.
