Reports to: Senior Program Manager
Supervises: GBV Prevention & Case management officers, WGSS Case workers, MHPSS Officers.
Type of Employment- Four Months Contract with possibility of extension based on fund availability
ROLE PURPOSE:
The GBV Project Manager is responsible for the overall management, coordination, and quality implementation of Gender-Based Violence prevention and response programs. The role ensures that all activities are survivor-centered, aligned with international and national GBV standards, and integrated across protection, health, MHPSS, and legal services. The Project Manager provides technical leadership, oversees program planning, monitoring, and reporting, strengthens referral pathways and stakeholder partnerships, and ensures the safety, dignity, and empowerment of GBV survivors in humanitarian and development contexts.This role covers Shire, Sheraro.T/Adyabo,Ahsea,Alamata,Raya Alamata, and Ofla,
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Program Management and Implementation
Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of GBV prevention, risk mitigation, and response activities.
Ensure programming aligns with international standards, national policies, and organizational safety protocols.
Develop annual work plans, budgets, and implementation strategies.
Integrate GBV risk mitigation measures across sectors where applicable.
2. Case Management Oversight
Supervise and mentor GBV case workers and related staff.
Ensure high-quality, confidential, and timely survivor-centered case management services.
Monitor adherence to guiding principles including safety, confidentiality, non-discrimination, and respect.
Review complex cases and provide technical guidance as needed.
3. Capacity Building and Technical Support
Design and deliver training sessions on GBV core concepts, survivor-centered approaches, psychosocial support, and protection principles.
Strengthen the technical capacity of staff, partners, and community structures.
Develop tools, SOPs, and guidance notes to improve service delivery.
4. Coordination and Advocacy
Establish and strengthen referral pathways with local authorities, health facilities, legal services, NGOs, and community networks.
Represent the organization in GBV and protection coordination forums.
Advocate for improved access to services and enhanced protection for women and girls.
Foster partnerships that enhance comprehensive, multisector responses.
5. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
Monitor program progress against targets and indicators.
Oversee data collection and analysis while ensuring confidentiality and ethical standards.
Manage program budgets and ensure cost-effective implementation.
Prepare high-quality internal and donor reports in a timely manner.
6. Strategic Planning and Program Development
Conduct needs assessments and context analysis to identify emerging protection risks.
Contribute to proposal development and fundraising efforts.
Provide strategic direction and technical leadership for GBV programming expansion.
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
Bachelor Degree and above in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Gender Studies, health, and related fields.
training in GBV or protection programming is highly desirable.
Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in GBV/CP intervention.
Three years’ experience managing GBV programs in humanitarian or emergency settings.
Experience supervising and mentoring staff in GBV Case management
Experience in GBV IMS.
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of GBV prevention and response frameworks.
Expertise in survivor-centered case management and protection principles.
Experience developing SOPs, referral pathways, and training materials.
Strong budgeting and financial management skills.
Management and Leadership
Proven leadership and team management abilities.
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively in high-pressure and multicultural environments.
Communication and Representation
Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, and presentation skills.
