Job Position title:   General Accounts Division Head

The job position General Account’s Division head is responsible to coordinate, lead and control general accounts, collection, disbursements, records, and other related operations of the organization for the achievements and high performances. Avail and fulfill necessary resources and budget requirements for the execution of plans and set goals of the general account’s activities.

1. Coordinate and organize the general accounts, and other related financial matters of the organization for the achievements and high performances,

2. Participate in annual and strategic plans preparations of finance and budget, and other related operations,

3. Implement financial strategic plan, policies and procedures of the company,

4. Supervise that any expenditure is made in accordance with the guide lines and budgets,

5. Check or verify requests for payments and purchase orders, to ascertain whether sufficient fund and budget are fixed or allotted,

6. Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with organization policies, procedures and accepted accounting standards

7. Develop and manage an appropriate financial accounting records, journal and postings,

8. Ensure collections and receivables are done timely and accounted appropriately,

9. Reconcile the Company’s bank accounts and cash movements,

10. Prepares payroll based on the attendance sheet and other contractual agreements,

11. Records daily sales transactions to the appropriate accounts,

12. Produce financial statements and analysis on monthly, quarterly, semi-annually and annually; and submit to immediate supervisor

13. Follow up, Monitor and support taxation issues, taxes, insurance payments and collection are settled on time;

14. Check payroll and pass it to payment effect on monthly basis,

15. Prepare and submit required resources and budgets of general accounts activities so as to ensure its targets achievements,

16. Give solutions and ensure work activities are done based on organization policies, procedures and standards, government rules and regulations

17. Perform other related activities of the organization as required and given by immediate supervisor

Job Requirements

Job Requirements:  BA degree in accounting and 10 years of working experience

Additional Skills: 

• advanced computer skills, particularly knowledge of MS Word and MS excel, as well as other financial software packages.

• Practical experience using Peachtree accounting software 

• Excellent knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and financial regulations 

• Excellent in written and verbal communication skills.
