The General Manager will oversee the daily operations of the Exporters Association, providing strategic leadership, direction, and support to members, staff, and stakeholders. He will be responsible for building relationships with government and non-governmental organizations, ensuring that the association remains at the forefront of the country's macroeconomy. The General Manager will also be responsible for maintaining the financial health of the association, managing budgets, and implementing policies that enhance the association's reputation and impact. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategies and action plans that further the association's mission and objectives, while also ensuring that it remains relevant and responsive to changing market conditions and emerging trends.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including members, government agencies, regulatory bodies, and other industry organizations, to promote the association's/and of it's member's interests and influence policy decisions.

  • Membership Management: Develop and execute membership acquisition and retention strategies, identify opportunities to grow membership, and ensure that members receive value-added services and benefits.

  • Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets, ensure that the association operates within its financial means, and identify new sources of revenue to support the association's mission and objectives.

  • Staff Management: Supervise and manage staff, provide guidance and support to ensure that they meet the association's/and of its member's objectives, and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

  • Advocacy: Represent the association's and of it's broad member's interests to policy makers, organize conferences, forums, and advocate for policies that promote the growth and development of the export industry.

  • Communications: Develop and implement communications strategies to ensure that members are informed of association activities, and that the association's messaging is consistent and effective to all members unequivocally.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, international trade or related field, with an MBA preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in a senior leadership role within a related industry or association however total experience of 15 years minimum.

  • Proficient in English

  • Proficient in preparing presentations for governmental and non-governmental institutions

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies and non-governmental organizations.

  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful strategic plans, managing budgets, and achieving financial targets.

  • Strong leadership, management, and team-building skills.

  • Ability to think strategically, analyze complex information, and make sou8nd decisions.

  • Knowledge of export-related regulations, policies, and procedures, as well as global trade trends and challenges.
