Job Summary

The Graphics designer IV will be responsible for the visual design, layout, and production of institutional materials. This role focuses on transforming public health data, research findings, and laboratory program information into clear, professional, and visually engaging formats. The technician will support the communication of Global Fund activities and other EPHI initiatives through high-quality graphic design, print-ready layouts, and digital visual assets.

Experience: Minimum Experience: 6 years relevant work experience (typically requires relevant experience in design or IT support).

Job Competencies

• Software Proficiency: Strong skills in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) or CorelDraw.

• Communication: Good communication skills in both English and Amharic.

• Reliability: Ability to handle tight deadlines and manage multiple design projects simultaneously.

• Institutional Alignment: Both the civil service and MOH/EPHI rules and regulations will guide the day-to-day performance of the technician.

• Professional and standardized layout for all EPHI publications and laboratory reports.

• Clear, data-driven info graphics that simplify public health information for stakeholders.

• High-quality print and digital materials delivered on schedule.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Visual Design: Create professional layouts for newsletters, annual reports, brochures, and training manuals.

• Laboratory Data Visualization: Assist in creating charts, infographics, and dashboards to represent health data and program performance (HIV, TB, Malaria).

• Brand Maintenance: Ensure all visual materials follow the institute's official branding guidelines and the Ministry of Health (MOH) standards.

• Publication Support: Prepare files for high-quality printing, including color correction, image retouching, and pre-press checks.

• Digital Assets: Design graphics for the EPHI website and social media platforms to enhance public health messaging.

• Technical Maintenance: Ensure the proper upkeep of graphic design software, workstations, and high-end printing equipment.

• Collaboration: Work closely with the Editors and Public Relations Experts to ensure visual content aligns with written messaging.
