Overall purpose of the role is:
o The HO will mainly be responsible for the day-to-day implementation of the mobile health and nutrition
services under the team, health education, acute and life-threatening illnesses treatment as the
primary health care level, safe motherhood and child health consultation. In addition, the HO is
responsible for the daily implementation of mobile health and Nutrition services package as per the
standard, and control the daily dispensary and drug supply management. He will also be responsible
for day-to-day documentation of children and adults treated, people provided for health education,
vaccinated children, and all provided services accordingly and compile weekly and monthly reports
and share with Field office and Woreda health offices.
Job Responsibility
o Conduct & undertake PHC services like consultation & provide proper treatment for acute and lifethreatening
illnesses based on the protocol.
o Conduct daily morning meetings to review the previous day’s caseload, identify epidemiological
trends, and allocate tasks efficiently based on the team’s capacity and the IDP population’s needs
o Lead capacity building initiatives by conducting on-the-job training, case-based discussions, and
clinical mentoring for nurses, midwives, and other team members to fill skill gaps identified during
performance reviews.
o Manage performance and discipline by providing constructive feedback to team members,
documenting performance issues, and recommending interventions to the Field Office Responsible
person.
o Lead outbreak preparedness and response by immediately investigating alerts (e.g., suspected
measles, cholera), initiating active case finding within the camp, and implementing infection prevention
and control (IPC) measures within the mobile site.
o Strengthening of early referrals mechanism and ensure all referral cases are properly transported to
the nearest health facility based on the availability of ambulance and seriousness of the illness.
o Conduct planning and promotion of routine awareness creation on nutrition and preventative health
care issues in the IDPs.
oAnalyze health and nutrition data trends (by exporting EMR data into Excel) to identify morbidity patterns, defaulters in nutrition programs, or gaps in coverage and act accordingly.
oManage the Community Feedback and Complaint Mechanism by ensuring the MHNT has a functional suggestion box, documenting complaints (feedback logs) and the like and submit to MEAL officer timely for the analysis
o Conduct regular data quality monitoring to ensure that registers (OPD, MCH, nutrition) are consistent, accurate, and triangulated with the weekly/monthly reports before submission.
o Compile, organize and report project reports to MEAL officer/Project Officer/Project Manager Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly bases.
o Provide close technical support and consultation to the team members whenever necessary in OPD, IPD, Emergency and other departments.
o Giving direction, deliver tasks and assignments to the Team members and mange any gap which might occur due shortage of manpower.
o Ensure documentation is properly collected and stored.
o Represent the Organization (CUAMM) in area based CCCM (Camp Coordination and Camp Management) Meetings held in IDP sites and report to line supervisor any concerns from IDP camp administration in day-to-day operational issues.
o Coordinate with other humanitarian actors (Health, WASH, Protection, Nutrition, Food security and others) operating in the camp to ensure integrated service delivery.
o Ensure proper routine data collection.
o Work any tasks assigned by the line manager and the organization
Job Requirements
Required Qualification:
Education Level : BSc Degree in Public Health
Years of Experience :At least 2 years’ experience as Health officer
At least 1 year experience in MHNT
Competencies Required: Office MS (Basic requirement)
Ability to use EMR software with a minimum orientation
