Position overview: We are seeking an experienced and passionate High School History Teacher to teach Grades 9–12, with a strong focus on IGCSE and AS/A Level History. The ideal candidate will play a key role in inspiring students to analyze historical events, evaluate multiple perspectives, and develop advanced research and essay-writing skills essential for success in Cambridge examinations
Basic Responsibilities:
- Teach Cambridge IGCSE and AS/A Level History to Grades 9–12 students
- Design and deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons aligned with Cambridge curriculum
- Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessment strategies
- Provide targeted support and differentiation for diverse learners
- Prepare students for Cambridge examinations
- Track and report student progress using formative and summative assessments
- Integrate technology and primary/secondary sources into teaching
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress
- Collaborate with Secondary team and educational leadership
- Participate in school activities, meetings, and professional development
- Uphold the school’s values and child safeguarding policies
- Perform other related tasks as necessary
Job Requirement
Education:
- BA/MA in History or Related field
- Teaching certifications/licenses an advantage
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum 3 years’ teaching experience at high school level with international students
- Proven teaching experience in Cambridge IGCSE, AS/A level History
- Strong understanding of Cambridge assessment objectives and exam techniques
- Strong classroom management and instructional skills
- Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written)
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
