Position Summary
The HR and Administration Manager will lead all human resource and administrative functions of the organization, ensuring effective HR systems, compliance with organizational policies and labor law, staff development, and efficient office administration.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resource Management
- Manage recruitment, selection, onboarding, and exit processes
- Maintain staff contracts and personnel records
- Implement performance management and appraisal systems
- Ensure compliance with HR policies and Ethiopian labor law
- Manage disciplinary procedures and staff relations
- Lead staff development and training initiatives
- Monitor staff attendance, leave management, punctuality, and daily administrative follow-up
- Ensure timely reporting and proper documentation of personnel records
Administration Management
- Oversee office administration and logistics
- Manage procurement and asset control systems
- Ensure proper use of organizational resources
- Supervise office services, transport, and facilities
- Support audit and compliance processes
Policy, Safeguarding & Compliance
- Ensure enforcement of HR policies and procedures
- Promote safeguarding and child protection standards
- Support whistleblowing and accountability mechanisms
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling staff matters
Resource Mobilization & Organizational Support
- Participate in organizational resource mobilization efforts
- Support proposal development, donor compliance, and partnership initiatives when required
- Contribute to strengthening organizational systems and sustainability effort
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in HRM, Business Administration, Management, or related field
- 7–10 years of relevant work experience, preferably in NGOs or development organizations
- Strong knowledge of Ethiopian labor law
- Experience in HR systems, performance management, and staff development
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- High level of integrity and professionalism
- Experience in child-focused or humanitarian organizations is an advantage
