Direct, control and lead the entire activities and tasks of human resource management and general services of the Plant. Develops HR policies & strategies in collaboration with the HR Director and implements when approved

Duties & Responsibilities:

HR Advice, Support and Coaching

  • Work with Managers to manage the recruitment and selection of operational roles.

  • Support and work with managers to ensure the successful induction of the successful candidates into the role and the business.

  • Work with Line Managers to identify performance related issues.

  • Provide proactive management coaching to work with employees prior to initiating the formal performance improvement process.

  • Coach and advice managers in effective conduct and management of all disciplinary processes of the staff in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Company.  

  • Complete documentation, ensure country’s legislation and Dashen CBA compliance.

  • Interpreting and advising on employment legislation; develop and implement policies on a variety of workplace issues.

  • Assist the functional Leadership team in reinforcing the Leadership competencies.

  • Create a high performance focused culture through personal leadership, teamwork and the development of individual accountability for performance and safety.

  • Contributing to a positive working environment through involvement & participation in company initiatives.

HR System and Design 

  • Evaluate existing HR systems adequacy and effectiveness as tools of management control; develops, recommends and when approved by the HR Director, assists in the implementation of new systems, procedures, and policies.

HR Strategic Duties

  • Driving company values and culture within the functional team.

  • Developing HR planning strategies with line managers by considering immediate and long-term staff requirements.

  • Design and implement market based pay structure in line with company Philosophy.

  • Development of a talent pipeline in collaboration with HRD.

  • Support and involve other areas of strategic activities as required. 

HR Reporting

  • Prepare, co-ordinate and provide relevant HR reporting as required daily, weekly and monthly utilizing company databases and systems.

  • Prepare People balance sheet report quarterly.

Performance Management

  • By closely working with L and D Manager Support Managers and team leaders through the performance process, including setting goals & targets, holding team members to those targets.

  • Preparing development or performance improvement plans in conjunction with Managers.

Job Requirements

  • BA in Business Administration, Human Resource & Organization Development, Public Administration, Management or equivalent.

  • At least 8 years’ relevant experience in HR in FMCG ideally beverage industry, out of which More than 4 years in a Managerial position.

  • Business experience outside of HR function (desirable).

  • Experience with working autonomously

 Key competency & Behavioral Skill

  • Ability to analyses data and present this in a meaningful way.

  • Knowledge of and an ability to understand technical concepts.

  • Advanced attention to detail and the ability to apply good judgment when making decisions.

  • Displays a high level of emotional intelligence, including Resilience, influencing skills, and Effective interactions that build strong relationships.

  • Confidence with communicating to different audiences at different levels across the business.

  • Considerable knowledge of company policies & requirements & the Ethiopian Labor Law.
