Habesha Breweries S.C. is looking for an HR Officer - Debre Birhan.

The Role Summary:

Under the supervision of the HR Manager, the HR Officer maintains up-to-date employee data both hard and soft copy. He/ she manages employee leave and pension, medical benefits as well as collect and feed over time in the system, and handles general service activities in the brewery.  

Result areas & responsibilities

Staff pension Administration

  • Handle all staff pension registration and inform salary or grade, employment, and resignation changes the concerned government body

Records Keeping 

  • Administer and maintain records and put them into the systems.

  • Maintains both hard and soft copy files and updates salary or position changes of all staff.

  • Open the file and be sure to have all necessary documents i.e. experience, educational testimonials, pension, life history, and other relevant documents of the newly added staff.

  • Collect over timesheet and put it to the HR system

  • Feed updated and accurate information generated from the system to any internal or external use when ordered by the immediate supervisor or department manager.

  • Administer and maintain records and put them into the systems.

Leave Management 

  • Manages annual leave, sick leave, and other leaves and feeds updated information to immediate supervisor. 

Employee relations & GS activities

  • Draft letters for employees upon request.

  • Handle general service activities in the brewery 

Safety, health, and Environment (SHE)

  • Compliance with the company safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.

  • Report health and safety hazards/near misses that might cause a risk

  • Participate in an incident investigation in his/her area of function

The Person:

Education and Experience

  • University level degree

  • Ideally 2 + years of relevant experience.
