We are seeking an experienced and ground-tested HR Division Head to lead our site-level HR and administrative operations at the Boreda plant.
Key Responsibilities
1. Site HR Operations & Head Office Alignment
Act as the lead HR representative at the Boreda plant, maintaining daily communication and coordination with the HR Manager in Addis Ababa.
Execute corporate HR policies, procedures, and initiatives tailored to site-level operational realities.
Prepare and submit regular workforce reports (attendance, overtime, turnover, discipline, and site issues) to the Head Office HR team.
2. On-Site Workforce & Talent Management
Manage the full lifecycle of plant-level staff, including local recruitment, onboarding, deployment, and shift allocations.
Support site management and supervisors in setting performance targets, conducting appraisals, and managing worker productivity.
Coordinate technical, safety, and operational training sessions for site personnel in collaboration with plant managers.
3. Employee Relations, Discipline & Local Compliance
Oversee site employee relations, resolving day-to-day workplace grievances, conflict, and administrative disputes promptly.
Conduct preliminary disciplinary reviews and administrative inquiries in accordance with company policy and legal regulations, coordinating formal actions with the HR Manager.
Ensure site activities comply strictly with relevant labour laws, local authority regulations, health and safety (HSE) standards, and community engagement protocols.
4. Site Payroll & Administrative Oversight
Verify and compile site-level timekeeping, attendance logs, leave balances, and allowances to ensure accurate payroll processing by Head Office.
Supervise site HR administrative staff, timekeepers, and support personnel.
Collaborate with local government offices, labour offices, and community representatives in the Boreda region when authorized by Head Office.
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in human resource management, Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 6 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2–3 years managing HR operations at a plant, mine, or field site.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Site HR Leadership: Proven ability to manage site workforce dynamics, production staff, and local administrative tasks independently.
Labor Law & Compliance: In-depth working knowledge of labour legislation, occupational health and safety regulations, and local workplace procedures.
Conflict Resolution: Firm, fair, and empathetic approach to handling worker grievances, site disputes, and disciplinary matters.
