Bilcor Institute of Leadership, Coaching and Research is hiring on behalf of Iron Shark Manufacturing PLC, a new paint factory in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Iron Shark Manufacturing PLC is looking for an experienced and hands-on HR & Administrative Manager to establish and manage the company’s HR and administrative functions as the new paint factory builds its workforce and operations.
The successful candidate will play an important role in setting up HR systems, recruiting employees, developing policies and procedures, managing employee relations, and ensuring smooth administrative operations.
Key Responsibilities
HR Management & System Setup
Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and systems.
Establish employee records and HR documentation systems.
Manage the full employee lifecycle from recruitment to separation.
Develop and manage attendance, leave, overtime, and employee records.
Coordinate payroll preparation with Finance.
Ensure compliance with Ethiopian labor laws and company policies.
Recruitment & Workforce Planning
Lead recruitment for production, technical, sales, administrative, and management positions.
Work with management to determine workforce requirements.
Develop effective recruitment and onboarding processes.
Support the company in building a qualified and reliable workforce.
Performance & Employee Relations
Develop and implement performance management and KPI systems.
Coordinate probation and performance reviews.
Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters, and workplace conflicts.
Promote employee engagement, teamwork, and a positive workplace culture.
Support employee development and training initiatives.
Factory Administration
Manage day-to-day administrative activities.
Coordinate facilities, security, cleaning, transportation, office supplies, and other administrative services.
Develop effective administrative procedures and controls.
Ensure a safe, organized, and professional working environment.
Monitor administrative costs and resource utilization.
Compliance & Reporting
Ensure compliance with labor and workplace regulations.
Prepare regular HR and administrative reports for management.
Monitor key HR indicators such as headcount, turnover, absenteeism, recruitment, and performance.
Maintain proper documentation for inspections, audits, and regulatory requirements.
Provide HR and administrative advice to management.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of relevant HR and Administrative experience.
Experience in manufacturing, factory, industrial, or production environments is highly preferred.
Strong experience in recruitment, employee relations, HR operations, and administration.
Experience in setting up or improving HR systems and procedures is an advantage.
Good knowledge of Ethiopian labor law and employment practices.
Experience with performance management and KPI systems.
Knowledge of payroll, attendance, leave, and employee record management.
Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office and HR systems.
