Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for the preparation of the base model extracting pipe data from GIS and building the network model;
Prudently prepare district metered area (DMA) design report and fitting details;
Coordinate with the DMA team to prepare modal demand;
Assist the hydraulic expert in the calibration of the hydraulic model;
Designs and tests hydraulic systems, including forecasts the effects on equipment, including expected wear and tear and degradation;
Determines appropriate materials and equipment for projects and facilities including pumps, pipes, conduits, and turbines;
Coordination with surveyors to collect accurate data for technical reports;
Working with GIS datasets and GIS processing to support hydrologic and hydraulic analysis;
Conducting studies of existing hydraulic engineering projects to assess their efficiency or safety risks;
Manage and manipulate computer data and produce hydraulic models and undertakes verification of models;
Develop innovative ideas and participate in R&D projects both internally and externally;
Responsible for ensuring that juniors understand and comply with all Health & Safety requirements, practices and procedures;
Model and analyze new hydraulic pump concepts for automatic transmissions;
Working directly with clients, supervising technical engineers and mentoring junior staff;
Other tasks assigned by the supervisor
Academic qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Hydraulic Engineering.
Professional license/certification is a requirement.
Additional qualifications
Able to communicate verbally and in written format to all organizational levels
Strong knowledge of MS Office, including word, Excel and power point;
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Proved Knowledge in Hydraulic Modeling Software, EPANET, or Water Gems, GIS and Civil 3D.
Physically able to conduct field studies.
Years of experience: 5+ years experience in the design of urban water supply projects as a hydraulic modeler
