Job title: - Import & Export Officer

Location: - Addis Ababa

Job summary:

The Import & Export Officer ensures efficient processing of shipments, prepares documentation, and maintains compliance with trade regulations. This role supports the smooth flow of goods in and out of Ethiopia.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and verify import/ export documents 

• Coordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders and customs brokers.

• Ensure compliance with Ethiopian customs and international trade laws.

• Track shipments and update stakeholders on status.

• Assist in duty and tax calculations for imports/ exports.

• Maintain records of all transactions and correspondence.

• Resolve documentation discrepancies with relevant authorities.

• Support senior officers in customs clearance process.

• Communicate with suppliers and clients regarding shipment details.

• Stay updated on changes in import/ export regulations.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience

• Diploma or BA Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business related

• 3+ years (diploma), 1+ year (BA)

Skills:

• Knowledge of shipping documentation and custom processes.

• Strong organizational and communication skills.

• Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficiency in Microsoft office and logistics software.
