Job Summary
Responsible for exploration survey, feasibility study and detail design of water and irrigation schemes; monitors and supervises irrigation and water supply activities.
Principal Responsibilities
upport infrastructure officer in coordinating and supervising the construction tasks at selected construction sites;
Makes the community participate in the construction activities;
Establish and follows up the participation of community's committee in the construction activities;
Collects information about the progress of completed activities and assist handing over process of the completed constructions to the respective beneficiaries and concerned line offices;
Ensures that construction materials are properly utilized for the overall activities which are implemented via the project and cross checking the payments are properly received by the respective workers;
Promotes positive relationship with the concerned local governments;
Assists the immediate supervisor in conducting surveys and in preparing design document to the planned construction activities;
Conducts water quality tests before and after implementation and keeps records;
Pays daily wages of laborers and organizes the record;
Prepares performance reports for the overall activities which are under the project/program in consultation with his immediate supervisor;
Performs other related duties assigned by the immediate supervisor;
Prepares working plans and schedules;
Makes available materials and other resources necessary for all construction as per the design

⮚ Encourage female staff to participate in external networks (local and regional), as well as seminars and cross visits.
⮚ Facilitate open and regular discussions with staff on about the work environment, policies, and values convenient to gender issues.
Safety & Security Responsibility
⮚ Encourages compliance of Safety and Security principles and policies of the organization by all staffs;
⮚ Visiting project Offices and operational areas periodically to meet staff and making sure that all staff members are aware of the safety and security procedures;
⮚ Explains to staffs the reasoning behind the organization’s safety and security policies and procedures
⮚ Organizing local training sessions, such as First Aid, Fire Safety, and Defensive Driving for staff members. If possible, he/she should conduct briefing and training sessions himself/herself;
⮚ Ensures that safety and security objectives are added to performance reviews and evaluations of all staff members;
⮚ Encourages staff to adopt safe and secure practices. Ensuring that updated personnel information related to safety (Record of Emergency Data) and security management are kept in Human resources.

Experience
⮚ 1-2 years related experience in a relevant position Preferably in INGO Setting. Previous experience working in a similar position with PReSERVE Project is an added advantage.
Education/Certifications
⮚ Bsc in Irrigation Engineering/ Hydraulic Engineering or relevant field of study.
Distinguishing Competencies
⮚ Strong computer skill and knowledge in the area of MS word, MS Excel, MS Access, PowerPoint and email communication.
⮚ High level of initiative taking.
Language
⮚ Proficiency in both spoken and written English. Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
